At the entrance to the city center, you are welcomed by a democratic fa\u00e7ade<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building at Masarykova 51 in Michalovce<\/strong> forms a distinctive landmark at the city\u2019s gateway. Its fa\u00e7ade was designed to communicate the conversion of the former Chempik building<\/strong> through a rhythm that combines regularity within irregularity<\/strong>, maintaining a harmonious structure<\/strong> of windows and balconies. This approach distinguishes the building from the uniformity of panel structures and introduces a new architectural impulse<\/strong> into the urban environment. The color concept<\/strong> was carefully chosen to harmonize with the surroundings<\/strong>, including the residential zone, the basilica, and the villas along Masarykova Street<\/strong>, creating a cohesive and dignified image<\/strong> upon entering Michalovce. Attention to detail extends into the public spaces<\/strong> surrounding the building \u2014 from lighting to entrance areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The apartment layouts<\/strong> were designed with a focus on meeting the needs of discerning clients, with each unit unique in its concept<\/strong>. The combination of generous windows<\/strong> and diverse balcony compositions<\/strong> creates spaces that sensitively reflect the individual preferences and lifestyles<\/strong> of future residents. The guiding principle of the conversion was to maximize natural light<\/strong> through open entry zones, minimize corridor spaces<\/strong>, and strategically position kitchens<\/strong> along fa\u00e7ades with the most attractive views<\/strong>. This concept consciously departs from standardized panel-block typologies<\/strong>, offering spatial freedom<\/strong> complemented by high ceilings<\/strong> and refined proportions<\/strong>. Each apartment is the result of careful design<\/strong>, merging aesthetic quality with functionality<\/strong> to appeal to clients who value individuality and refined design<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the conversion, we chose to preserve and reuse the massive travertine flooring<\/strong> in the entrance area, which was dismantled from the original structure and reinstalled as wall cladding. Travertine<\/strong> \u2014 a traditional material of Slovak public buildings from the 1970s and 1980s<\/strong> \u2014 is characterized by its porous texture, natural tones, and timeless elegance<\/strong>. Through this gesture, we were able to retain, restore, and integrate<\/strong> an authentic element of the old building into the new architecture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fa\u00e7ade of the building at Masarykova 51 is a deliberate interplay of vertical and horizontal lines<\/strong>, bringing rhythm and structure to its design. Every element \u2014 from windows and balconies to vertical divisions<\/strong> \u2014 is carefully composed, resulting in a harmonious composition<\/strong> and diverse light conditions<\/strong> in the interiors, responding to the orientation, height, and character<\/strong> of each layout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
